Explain the ERS concept and call the audience to take the free survey. End up with explaining the ERS score significance.
Intro
- This episode is the 2nd in the series of entrepreneurial journey conditioning. This one is build on the previous episode. Please listen to my previous episode if you haven’t already.
- Recap from last time. We talked about
- Why entprenerial journey is one of the hardest journeys
- Some of the misconceptions that many entrepreneurs have about this journey.
- We talked about the emotional journey of building anything great and why many fall into the dark swamp of desperation.
- I asked you at the end of the episode to fill out the entrepreneurial conditioning assessment to help you get started with this journey. Btw, even if you don’t have plans to be an entrepreneur, you still can apply the same concepts to almost anything else.
Chapter 1 – What is ERC and why it is important
- So, last time I defined entrepreneurial conditioning as being the best version of yourself so that you learn and grow at all personal and business dimensions. I’d like to expand a bit on that for the next couple of minutes.
- As an entrepreneur, you will deal with a lot of unexpected events around you everyday. Each one of them will require energy and mental clarity to make the right decision. But the problem is that these events are actually going to get you out of your balance and what you used to. The negative impact of these events will eventually take you down into the dark swamp of desperation if you are not maintaining your mental state and have the right support structure to bring you back in balance.
- Let me tell you a story, Magalix, my startup was about to be acquired by a big company. But the whole deal collapsed just two hours before signing the LOI. That made me completely out of balance and didn’t know what to do back them. I felt that shuting down the company is imminent. I didn’t see anyway out. Until two days after that event, I started to be more conscious about my thought process and what is inhibiting me to think clearly about the situation. Mental reslience and building conciousness about your thought process is something I’ll talk about in the next episode. I realized actually that I have the opportunity to shop around with the LOI I have. And I did, which gave me very interesting results that I’m going to share in a different episoden. But the idea here is that lack of clarity about what is going on in your head will limit your abilities significantly. This is an example of how entrepreneurial conditioning can help you and why it is important. Hadn’t I paused and thought about the possibilities, my company and I could be in a very bad place.
Chapter 2 – The five elements to build strength as an entrepreneur
Let me explain the five elements that will help you to build internal strength and self-control.
Chapter 3 – Take the survey and explain the score’s significance.
- So, last time I asked you to fill out that entrepreneurial conditioning assessment. If you have done so, you should have received a google doc that has the results of your assessment.
- The version you got is a short version covering only three of the five areas that I identified to build internal strength for your intepreneurial journey. Please reach out if you want to try the full survey and get the full report.
Outro

- Next time I will talk about the first pillar of entrepreneurial conditioning, which is the mental resiliency. I’ll also talk about how to have the right intentions before you found your startup and how that impacts your company’s culture and your perspective on that journey.
- Until next time, keep looking ahead!
